On display at Open Casello: the works of Promise Edoziogor, winner of the More than words 24/25 competition promoted by Liceo Manzoni

The exhibition showcases the works of Promise Edoziogor, winner of the award for Best Poster Design in the More than words 24/25 competition — a project dedicated to words, ideas, and images for cinema and film criticism, promoted by the Liceo Classico Manzoni in Milan. This exhibition brings together the visual work of a young emerging artist and forms an integral part of the cultural journey of the competition, which aims to highlight the creativity of new generations through the intersection of cinema, language, and visual arts.

With her first solo exhibition, Promise Edoziogor opens the doors to her expressive world with Con il cuore in mano — an intimate and visceral journey through painting, drawing, and animation. The show features a selection of visual works ranging from oil paintings and graphite drawings to animated pieces accompanied by music, through which the artist explores themes of love, acceptance, and reconnection with her Nigerian roots.

Each work serves as a narrative fragment, weaving together personal stories and collective resonances. The title Con il cuore in mano (“With My Heart in My Hand”) reflects the open, confessional nature of Edoziogor’s artistic research — a visual diary that becomes a shared space.

The cinema project, conceived and written by Ivana Musio and Eleonora Rossi for the Liceo Classico Manzoni, aims to educate high school students in the development of ideas for screenwriting and film criticism.

ARTIST
Promise Edoziogor is an emerging artist of Nigerian descent, born and raised in Perugia, Italy. She currently lives in Bologna, where she is attending the third year of the DAMS degree program at the University of Bologna. From her earliest years she has found in drawing her preferred channel of expression, a path later deepened through her studies at the art high school. Her work ranges between traditional techniques, such as graphite and oil painting, and digital media, particularly video and animation.
